Descriptions

Charcoal on repurposed cardboard

One of the biggest problems humanity is facing today is excessive consumption. Human beings play the leading role in the consumption of natural resources, trends, and social relations. As a part of my video art project, I aimed to criticize our consumption habits by drawing a single-person dinner set. For my final project, I recorded and edited a stop-motion video art piece. I used different fabrics and projected a variety of images onto the plate to capture the rapidity of trends and the way we consume them.

Height: 26 cm; Width: 40 cm

Fabric pieces, cutlery, image reflections

Photos projected on the plate using a projector. The images I selected for the video reflects how we consume relationships, natural resources, trends and eventually how we will run out of them. Since overconsumption is a problem that us humans have created, I wanted to set up a dinnerware set and show that we consume everything in a literal meaning. You can access the stopmotion video using the QR code.
